An accident occured near Beijing Olympic's Rowing Venue. A bus from the athletes' village collided with a van on the way to the Shunyi Olympic Rowing canoeing Park. 2 passengers from the van died in the hospital while other two are seriously injured.
Passengers of the bus who happens to be Crotian Rowers, the double sculls team of Mario Vekic and Ante Kusurin were not seriously injured. The two competed and finished fourt in the semifinal. Greg Lovell, the Australian rowing team doctor was also a passenger of the bus but was not seriously injured.
