I joined an SEO contest "Captivating Capiz" as the target keyword. I joined because I want to test my SEO skills. I had my entry posted in this article Captivating Capiz. There was no report of any car accident involving Miley Cyrus coming from authorities. The pictures that leaked that allegedly were said to be Miley Cyrus are not Miley Cyrus. They were pictures of a young girl named Nikki Catsouras, who was an 18-year-old, decapitated in a tragic car accident while driving her father’s Porsche last year.

Traffic just went down immediately after the O----l----ympics. With that my adsense earnings also went down. However the past 2 days I was able to recover and made very good money from adsense. The CPM was higher the past 2 days. But today, I am so shocked by the earnings that I have made from adsense. The money just went really down. It's just the beginning of the day though but the difference is quite noticeable. The CPM or cost per impression just went really low. Could I be smart priced? Or could this be because of my failure to update some of my blogs.

For this particular blog alone, I noticed the most low CPM which was not the case before. This blog has high CPM for the ads. So yes, I have this theory that the O--l--ympic ads are causing this. The event just ended so advertisers are expecting low traffic and thus are bidding low for the keywords. So basically, my move now is to eliminate the said ads and incorporate high paying keywords in my posts so that I can make more money with adsense. More money because I badly need it, especially now that I have lots of financial obligations and my financial standing can't suffice for all. Well, everyone needs money nowadays. :)

The 2008 Beijing Olympics has ended. This blog has focused on this event for the past days- from the day the Olympics started until the day it ended. There are just two purposes for shifting from the main topic of this blog which is affiliate marketing | affiliate programs:

1. Provide information about current events
2. Make money from current events

In the blogosphere, traffic is the key to making more money. Traffic is like food to us webmasters. We need traffic to either sell a product, promote an affiliate program, or to earn from the ads displayed on our sites. The more traffic your blog or site gets, the more money you are likely to make.

For the Olympic Games event, although I was late in optimizing this blog for better SERP, yet I was able to get into the 1st -3rd page of google search results in some keywords. Thus I get over a thousand visits at times.

Unlike other webmasters who reached $600 from adsense because of the heavy traffic, I managed to just pull off over $200. But that's my quota and I'm sure glad I reached it before the month of August ends.

There is still traffic from Olympic Final Medal Tally, Olympic Final Medal Count, Medal Count in Olympics and other keywords related to Olympics. I hope the traffic continues for more days and I hope to get more earnings from adsense so that I can buy myself a new cellular phone. Oh yes I need a new phone because my old phone has some problems. In the next days I will be talking again about how to make money online and about affiliate programs.
